Muslim communities in Davao del Norte received on Tuesday over PHP5.4 million worth of financial aid under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.

In a statement on Wednesday, Davao del Norte Vice Governor De Carlo Uy said around 2,710 beneficiaries in four towns of the province got PHP2,000 each.

Uy said 788 beneficiaries from Asuncion, Kapalong and San Isidro towns received the aid while 1,922 beneficiaries from Tagum City (Batch 2) got the same intervention.

On April 5, around 1,503 beneficiaries in Tagum City (Batch 1) also availed of the same amount from the AICS program.

“Thank you so much to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. Special Assistant to the President Anton Lagdameo, House Speaker Martin Romualdez, and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for making the assistance possible,” Uy added.

The AICS program is being implemented by the DSWD to support the recovery of individuals and families in case of unforeseen crisis, such as illness or death of a family member and other similar circumstances. (PNA)
