Top officials of North Cotabato province have turned over some PHP40.3 million worth of infrastructure projects to seven far-flung villages here.

Governor Emmylou Taliño-Mendoza and North Cotabato 3rd District Representative Ma. Alana Samantha Santos led the marathon ceremonial turnover and ribbon-cutting ceremonies Tuesday, witnessed by officials and residents of the recipient barangays.

The projects include the electrification of Sitio Sadaan and Dalanginan in Barangay Macabenban amounting to PHP3 million; Sitio Nigan, Barangay Cadiis (PHP2.7 million); and Sitio Bunuang, Kibudtungan (PHP3.6 million).

“Close to 900 potential households will benefit from the electrification projects,” the provincial government said in a statement Wednesday.

Also handed over was a completed covered court project in Barangay Manili amounting to PHP985,000; kilometer-long road concreting projects in Barangay Kilala (PHP9.97 million); Barangay Kibenes (PHP9.98 million); and Barangay Katanayanan amounting to PHP9.98 million.

“In our community, the road concreting project relieves our difficulty and risks in riding our motorcycle every day from home to school,” Honey Glen Orolan, the Sangguniang Kabataan chair of Barangay Kilala said in an interview Wednesday.

The provincial government reassured the public it would provide the necessary programs and infrastructure to improve their lives. (PNA)
