At 72 years old, a senior citizen from Cebu finishes his degree in Senior High School, a milestone for him to become an agriculturist.

Many netizens were inspired by the story of Carlos Saladaga, or Tatay Carlos, as he recently graduated from senior high school under the Alternative Learning System.

Living in Cebu, Tatay Carlos was disclosed to have six grandchildren but still managed to juggle his time for studies and family.

After graduating from the General Academic Strand, the senior citizen shared that he wanted to become an agriculturist, noting that he is also a farmer himself.

Noting this outstanding presence of Tatay Carlos in graduating senior high school despite his age, Tabogon City Mayor Francis Salimbangon congratulated him in a Facebook post.

In the said post, the mayor disclosed that Tatay Carlos wanted to be an agriculturist to help other farmers come up with techniques in boosting their productivity.

“Ang edukasyon, walay gipili nga edad ug panahon. […] Truly, Tatay Carlos is an inspiration to all of us to keep on going on,” Mayor Salimbangon said.

With what Tatay Carlos has shown, may we all be inspired to just continue pursuing our dreams, especially in education, because believing in yourself will always be the key to success.
