An interactive learning center that focuses on classroom interaction systems and technology, including robotics education and the use of tablets and interactive whiteboards, among others, is now in place at the Shamrock Elementary School in this city.

Sponsored by the General Parents Teachers Association, Shamrock’s e-library aims to benefit 1,578 learners and 56 teachers.

A formal launch is set on March 3.

Shamrock’s school head Cecilia Cruz Antonio said Thursday that the e-learning center prepares learners for a progressively globalized world and help them develop the “4 Cs” of learning, including critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity.

“E-learning (electronic learning) is the delivery of learning and training through digital resources. It is provided through electronic devices like computers, tablets, and even cellular phones that are connected to the internet,” she added.

On Thursday, some selected students participated in the dry run to explore the various features of the e-learning center.

Antonio said interactive learning is more fun for students as it gives them more chances to engage with each other.

Over time, this helps them to be better equipped for the many challenges they will face later in life, she added. (PNA)
