The Biliran provincial government will grant PHP3,000 cash to each of the poor fresh graduates of the Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) to finance their job hunting expenses.

Governor Gerard Roger Espina announced through Facebook on Thursday that some 1,400 BiPSU graduates will avail of the cash assistance up for release in a few weeks.

“This will be used by our graduates in looking for job and in processing requirements of documents for their application,” Espina said.

This will also prevent graduates from just hanging around after graduating, according to the governor.

Requirements for qualified graduates are a photocopy of a valid identification card, a certificate of indigency issued by their village chief, and duly filled-up forms available at the provincial government satellite offices.

Submission of applications started on Thursday at the provincial government satellite offices in different towns or the provincial capitol in Naval town.

“We will have a mass pay-out after all application are verified using BiPSU database,” Espina added.

BiPSU is a state university in the town of Naval in Biliran. It is operating an extension campus in the town of Biliran.

On Sept. 20, the school held a commencement exercise for its 1,600 graduates. (PNA)
