The North Cotabato provincial government has opened PHP12 million worth of infra projects at the capitol grounds here to help both small local traders and persons with disabilities (PWDs).

In a statement Saturday, outgoing North Cotabato Governor Nancy Catamco said the projects included a PHP7- million “Pasalubong (Souvenir) Center” building and the PHP5- million elevator at the provincial capitol’s main building.

“The ‘Pasalubong Center’ fronting the capitol grandstand will be a one-stop-shop for all tourists and an avenue for our local farmers to showcase their products,” Catamco said after the opening of the project on Friday afternoon.

Catamco added that even local farmers can showcase their produce at the Pasalubong Center and eventually help them earn more amid the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.

“On the other hand, the elevator at the capitol’s main building is designed to give convenience to both PWDs and senior citizens,” she added.

The infrastructure projects were funded by the provincial government. (PNA)
