Director Louie Ignacio announced on March 31 that the latest Pinoy film “Huling Ulan sa Tag-araw” won the best feature film prize at this year’s Prime International Film Festival (PIFF) in Mumbai, India.

The award-winning film starring Ken Chan and Rita Daniela, who first worked together in the GMA hit soap “My Special Tatay,” tells the story of a seminarian (Chan) who is waiting for a sign if he really wants to become a priest, so he decided to take a leave of absence from the seminary. Then he meets an entertainer (Rita) and their chance encounter turns into an unexpected relationship.

This year’s PIFF has only one Filipino film that has received an award.

PIFF’s objective is to showcase high-quality films from all around the world while also supporting, recognizing, and honoring independent filmmakers.
