The award-winning American singer-actor Cherilyn “Cher” Sarkisian trended online after replying to a tweet from a Filipino who introduced Vice President Leni Robredo to her via Twitter. In response, the artist exclaimed, “BRAVO!!” “LET WOMEN DO IT!!”

The international superstar tweeted on Wednesday with “Excuse Don’t Know Leni,” then a Filipino replied with “Leni Robredo is the current Vice President of the Philippines and soon to be our President!” and after an hour, Cher tweeted back:

“BRAVO!! LET WOMEN DO IT!! LET LENI, & ALL WOMEN FIGHTING 2 SAVE CLIMATE, CHILDREN, ELDERLY, POOR, HOMELESS, SICK, PPL OF ALL COLORS, ETHNICITIES, LGBTQ. FORCE HONOR IN GOV. MAKE MEDICAL CARE, EDUCATION, CHILDCARE FREE. TAX CORPORATION, STOP CHILD LABOR. ANIMAL CRUELTY, ETC. #2GETHERWERSTRONG,” the artist shared.

The tweet quickly went viral on social media with more than 160,000 likes and 53,000 retweets as of writing. Robredo’s supporters were overjoyed for being acknowledged by one of the world’s renowned music superstars.

The artist first heard about Robredo through a retweeted post of her by a Filipino captioned with “Cher really said #LetLeniLead.” The superstar then replied with “Who Is This?” garnering almost 400 Twitter engagements as of writing.

Robredo was the only woman contending for the presidential seat in the anticipated Halalan 2022 election. Her opponents were Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domingo, Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao Sr., Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo, Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., Leodegario “Ka Leody” Quitain de Guzman, Noberto Borja Gonzales, Ernesto “Ernie” Corpuz Abella, Faisal Mangondadato and Jose Montemayor Jr.
