San Juan’s local government is now allowing group exercises in the city’s Pinaglabanan Shrine and other open-air areas, Mayor Francis Zamora said Tuesday.

In an advisory, Zamora said group exercises such as the Zumba session can be attended by a maximum of 70 percent capacity amid the shift to less restrictive Alert Level 2 classification in the National Capital Region (NCR).

Zamora, meanwhile, noted that people conducting open exercises should strictly follow the health and safety protocols such as wearing of face mask and physical distancing.

Individual outdoor exercises are likewise allowed for all ages, regardless of vaccination status.

The city government also allows intrazonal and interzonal travel, subject to reasonable restrictions, based on ages and comorbidities that will be determined by the city government.

People aged 18 years old and below, including those belonging to the vulnerable sectors, are allowed to access essential services, buy essential goods or go out for work within permitted industries and offices.

Casinos, horse racing, cockfighting as well as operation of cockpits, lottery, betting shops, and other gaming establishments, except authorized by the government’s pandemic task force, are prohibited to operate.

Maximum indoor venue capacity should be at 50 percent and 70 percent capacity in outdoor venues.

By the virtue of San Juan city ordinance no. 1 s. 2022, the “no vaccination card, no entry” policy will still be enforced in all business establishments and public transportation, except when transacting essential services or buying food items, medicines, and dental procedures.

Pasig allowed contact sports

In Pasig City, the local government has allowed contact sports for vaccinated players.

In his social media post, Mayor Vico Sotto said residents can conduct contact sports, such as basketball, in various covered courts permitted by the barangay or the city government.

Covered courts in subdivisions or condominiums will also be opened with permission from the management of the homeowner’s association.

Sotto said games in other playing courts can be stopped by authorities if health and safety protocols are violated.

Unvaccinated residents can now go outside of their residences during the implementation of the Alert Level 2 system.

The city government offices will be in full operation capacity, primarily those engaged in medical, peace and order, vaccination program, city census program, ayuda (assistance) distribution efforts, and disaster responses.

It also allows intrazonal and interzonal travels for minors, senior citizens, and those with comorbidities.

Sotto said the set local guidelines are based on the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases resolution No. 159-A, s-2022, adopted through Pasig EO No. PCG-3, s-2022. (PNA)
