The number of police officers infected with the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) continued to decline as the Philippine National Police (PNP) logged 496 more recoveries on Thursday.

In its latest Covid-19 bulletin, the PNP said this raised the recovery count to 45,613 out of a total of 47,782 confirmed infections since the beginning of the pandemic.

A total of 218 new infections were also recorded, bringing the active case count to 2,043. This is lower than Wednesday’s 2,321 active cases.

The number of police officers who died of Covid-19 remained at 126.

Meanwhile, 96.75 percent or 217,875 out of more than 225,000 PNP personnel have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 while 2.82 percent or 6,360 personnel have yet to receive their second dose.

About 36.7 percent or 79,965 have received booster doses while only 0.43 percent or 960 personnel remain unvaccinated. (PNA)
