The Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 (Caraga) Officers’ Ladies Club (PRO-13 OLC) extended humanitarian assistance and relief operation to the province of Dinagat Islands, particularly in Barangay Wilson in the town of San Jose, a police official said Thursday.

In a statement, Brig. Gen. Romeo Caramat Jr., the PRO-13 director, said the club officers distributed food packs, hygiene kits, and potable water to the affected residents in the area on Wednesday.

“A total of 518 food packs, 300 hygiene kits, and 50 pieces of 6-liter mineral water containers were distributed during the humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations in the area,” he said.

Nearly 600 affected individuals in the barangay directly benefited from the daylong relief operation.

A medical consultation was also conducted during the operation where some PHP118,000 worth of assorted medicines and vitamins were distributed to the affected residents in Barangay Wilson.

“The medical consultation was spearheaded by the Regional Medical and Dental Unit of PRO-13,” Caramat said.

PRO-13 OLC head Mamilyn Caramat thanked the officers and members who supported and actively participated during the relief operation.

She also made a call for more help to the affected residents in the Caraga Region and prayers for the recovery of the families whose lives were shattered by Typhoon Odette. (PNA)
