Ma. Luisa “Louie” P. Sebastian, Managing Director of Brown Bag Communication Phils, Inc. (BBCOMM) was conferred the rank of “Accredited in Public Relations” (APR) by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) in a virtual ceremony last December 10,2021. BBCOMM is a subsidiary of the multi-awarded PR agency PAGEONE.

Sebastian is an experienced communication and public relations executive with proven success in developing and implementing campaigns and crisis communication strategies for multiple channels across various stakeholder touch points. Her career spans more than 25 years and covers corporate communications, integrated marketing, media relations, and communication research. Having worked in various capacities in government and business, Sebastian has a vast network of contacts in government, media, labor groups, and non-government organizations. Prior to joining BBCOMM, Sebastian was the Vice President for Public Affairs of the Social Security System.

The rank of APR is conferred upon a nominated PR practitioner after a thorough evaluation of qualifications as well as written and oral examinations administered by the PRSP APR Board Accreditation. To be nominated, a candidate for APR must have at least five years of professional practice in PR and a body of work that displays a high degree of competence and understanding of the responsibility of a PR practitioner; ethical practice of PR that has earned the respect of both superiors and peers; and extensive experience in managing a team of specialists.

During the induction ceremony, Sebastian received the green beca and the pin that signify her expertise and ethicality in the field of public relations (PR). Sebastian considers the APR title that is now appended to her name as a “challenge to continue to champion PRSP’s mission to be at the forefront of elevated discourse on truthful communication.”
