With over 1.1 billion streams on Spotify, Olivia Rodrigo’s song titled “Driver’s License” hit the top as most streamed song of 2021, in the United States and in the whole world.

It’s not unexpected that the song was a smash hit because, on January 11, the song had already broken a record of 15.17 million global streams in a single day, followed on January 12 with 17.01 million listeners.

The singer posted on Instagram thanking all her listeners saying, “Thank u (you) guys for all the love this year. (It) means so much to me that ppl (people) listen to the songs I write. So grateful.”

Moreover, Rodrigo’s “Good 4 u” also made the top five most streamed songs list and her album “Sour” earned the number one spot as most streamed album globally.

Among the anthem that joined the most streamed songs are of Lil Nas X “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name), followed by The Kid LAROI’s “STAY (with Justin Bieber), and Dua Lipa’s (Levitating (feat. DaBaby).

And for most streamed album globally joining the list following Rodrigo’s “SOUR” were Dua Lipa’s “Future Nostalgia,” Justine Bieber’s “Justice”, Ed Sheeran’s “=”, and lastly Doja Cat’s “Planet”.

Also, for the most streamed musician in 2021 comes Bad Bunny, with over 9.1 billion listens. Taylor Swift came in second, followed by BTS, Drake, and Justin Bieber.
