The Department of Agriculture’s Philippine Carabao Center (DA-PCC) continues to empower the lives of dairy farmers by providing vehicles to deliver their produce.
The DA-PCC, through the Carabao-based Business Improvement Network (CBIN) project, said on Monday that it will distribute motorcycles and tri-wheels to select cooperative members.
The distribution of vehicles will be spearheaded by regional offices.
“It is in support of the efficient transportation of milk of carabao farmers from the farm to the processing facility to avoid spillage,” the DA-PCC said in a statement.
The DA-PCC and its sponsors previously established facilities that drive performance growth for carabao producers and by-product entrepreneurs.
In March 2021, DA-PCC at the University of Southern Mindanao, in partnership with the Sta. Catalina Multi-Purpose Cooperative, inaugurated several facilities that created a whole buffalo dairy value chain in North Cotabato.
The CBIN project along with the Coconut-Carabao Development Project, and the school-based Milk Feeding Program led by the Department of Education and Department of Social Welfare and Development are part of the Dairy Roadmap 2020 to 2025. (PNA)
