American actor and former WWE star Dwayne Johnson, also known by his ring name “The Rock” shared his desire to play the James Bond role.

In the latest episode of Esquire’s “Explain This,” the Red Notice actor disclosed that he wanted to be the next James Bond.

The actor revealed that his grandfather Peter Maivia is a former villain in the 1967 Bond film “You Only Live Twice,” which starred Sean Connery as the leading man.

It is also timely because the role of Bond is presently vacant following Daniel Craig’s departure after the release of “No Time To Die”, and the search for the next 007 is underway.

And when the men’s magazine asked Johnson about the future of the Bond franchise, the actor didn’t hold back and said, “I would like to follow in his footsteps and be the next Bond.

“I don’t want to be a villain. You gotta be Bond,” the actor added.
