With the “Build, Build, Build” program still requiring millions of local manpower nationwide, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) on Monday launched its nationwide virtual job fair dubbed “Bigay Trabaho: DPWH Jobs Fair 2021.”

DPWH Secretary Mark Villar said the possible employment opportunities include but not limited to construction jobs such as engineers, carpenters, steel man, welder, scaffolder, electrician, painters, and laborers.

Applicants are advised to check the department’s social media accounts or call or email appropriate contact numbers and email accounts.

“I am inviting jobseekers to check our website, our official social media sites for job postings starting Monday, or they can directly contact us at: landline no. (02) 16502, Viber no. 0961-684-7084, or email at markvillar_bigaytrabaho.dpwh.gov.ph,” he said in a statement.

Jobseekers may also directly check official Facebook pages of specific DPWH Regional Offices for job opportunities in their locality.

Successful applicants will be employed through the different projects under the “Build, Build, Build” program.

“Our ‘Build, Build, Build’ program will still require millions of local manpower nationwide despite the pandemic. Jobs will allow communities to recover from the economic impact of Covid-19,” Villar said.

For this year, the DPWH estimated that around 1.6 million jobs will be generated from its 2021 budget of PHP695.7 billion.

He said the job fair is in partnership with the DPWH’S contractors nationwide and was conceptualized to provide local employment amid numerous layoffs due to Covid-19 pandemic. (PNA)
