The things we do in the name of love. A man from Olongapo City chose to walk 60 kilometers to see his sweetheart in Angeles City, Pampanga, causing a stir on social media.

A Facebook post circulated last Friday, July 9, 2021, as Eric John Rodriguez from Olongapo City braved to walk the road just to meet his girlfriend.

“Dahil miss ko ung (yung) girlfriend ko, naisipan kong puntahan kaso 50 pesos lang pera ko eh anlayo (ang layo) non 60 kilometers kays (kaya) naisipan kong maglakad,” Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez stated that despite being exhausted and considering giving up, he continued to fight for the chance to see his girlfriend again.

“Napapaisip na’ko kung susuko na ba ako eh habang malapit pa. Pero dahil sa kagustuhan ko syang, makita nagpursigi ako maglakad at sa awa ng Diyos nakarating ako ng safe sa Angeles, Pampanga,” he said.

“Sobrang mahal na mahal ko girlfriend ko kaya ko nagawa yon. I Love You so much Riaa Mosones,” he added ending the Facebook post.

Rodriguez’s move received positive feedback from netizens, who praised him for his thoughtful gesture toward his girlfriend.

Ria Mosones, his girlfriend, was touched by the gesture and praised Rodriguez for his efforts.

“Sobrang worth it nung nagkita tayo, thank you sa effort mylove,” Mosones said in a Facebook post.

Rodriguez shared photographs and videos of himself walking to Angeles, Pampanga. He was spotted in Olongapo City, traversing Old Cabalan and New Cabalan, Hermosa, Bataan, and Florida Blanca, Pampanga.

The most recent photos he shared show him and his girlfriend eating at a fast-food restaurant, only moments after they met following Rodriguez’s long and exhausting journey.

The couple currently celebrated their 4th month as a couple Wednesday, July 14, 2021.

As of writing, his post has garnered 52k reactions and 57k shares.
