Vaccinators are reminded to take extra care and attention during inoculation after a video showing a prospective jab recipient failed to receive a dose of Covid-19 shot went viral.

In a statement Monday, the DOH said it is investigating the breach in vaccination protocol in coordination with Makati City.

The video, taken in one of the vaccination sites in Makati City, showed that the healthcare worker failed to push the contents of the syringe.

The DOH said the vaccination site was quick to address the mistake. The woman in the video received her jab immediately after showing the video to the vaccination team.

DOH Secretary Francisco Duque III assured the public that the incident is being taken seriously and immediate improvements in the protocol to keep a similar incident from happening again.

“Sinisigurado po namin na ating iimbestigahan ang pangyayaring ito upang mapabuti ang ating national vaccination program. Sa pagdating ng mas maraming bakuna sa bansa (We’ll make sure this is investigated to improve the national vaccination program. With the arrival of more vaccines to the country), we will continue to improve our speed, scale, and quality of service,” Duque said. (PNA)
