Converge ICT Solutions Inc. is providing free fiber-powered internet to key vaccination sites in partnership with the San Juan City government. The two venues being utilized by the local government for the inoculation of priority groups are the Fil-Oil Flying V Center along Santolan Road and the Theatre Mall in Greenhills Mall. These venues accommodate over 3,500 people who signed up for vaccination daily.

“We are glad to partner with the San Juan City government to make the vaccination process fast, easy and efficient by providing them with free WIFI connectivity which may be used by the organizers for the registration and other communication requirements,” said Jesus C. Romero, Converge Chief Operations Officer.

“As a provider of fast and reliable fixed broadband connection, we are more than willing to help and to do our part in the vaccination efforts of different local government units because we recognize the importance of vaccination in achieving herd immunity and winning the fight against Covid-19,” Romero added.

With Converge powering up the vaccination sites’ fiber broadband connection, registered residents, medical staff and organizers are given internet speeds of up to 150 Mbps.

Theatre Mall, Cinemas 1 and 2 can accommodate 1,500 individuals a day, while the Fil-Oil arena can cater to 2,000.

Fil-Oil Arena caters only to San Juan residents belonging to categories A1 to A5 categories while Theatre Mall in Greenhills Mall caters only to A4 non-residents of San Juan but work in the city.

As of June 21st, the city government has given complete doses to 18,110 individuals (21% of the target population) and has administered the first dose to 53,407 or 62.54% of the target population.

Earlier this month, the San Juan City also began the inoculation of essential workers or those under the A4 category as approved by the IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases). All individuals who are required to leave their homes for work are classified under the A4 category and are referred to as “essential workers”.

Last May, Converge also partnered with the city government of San Juan to launch a suite of learning tools and activated the intranet connection to make the virtual classroom a reality for San Juan city’s 12,000 public school students and teachers.

In progressing towards the new normal, Converge is partnering with government institutions to provide smart city solutions for education, health and other social requirements. “The need for fast and reliable internet connection became very obvious because of the pandemic. Converge is willing to take on this challenge and provide the digital highway that will allow our country and our people to move forward,” said Dennis Anthony Uy, Converge CEO and Co-founder.

Converge and the local government of San Juan came together to introduce the Learning Management System (LMS), an all-in-one virtual learning platform, equipped with video conferencing functionality, learning module database, exam management and grade computation tools among others.
