In another move to encourage registration, the Commission on Elections-Gender and Development (Comelec-GAD) office scheduled special days with the male population to be given preferential treatment.

Acknowledging the efforts of men, especially fathers, June 21 to 23, 2021 will be special days for them, according to a Facebook post.

“Kalalakihan, prayoridad ka (Men, you’ll be prioritized)! Three-day special registration for men and boys to celebrate Father’s Day this June 2021,” the post read.

Male applicants may visit their local Comelec office to register from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays to Saturdays.

The country will celebrate Father’s Day next Sunday, June 20.

The nationwide voter registration will run until September 30.

The Comelec is eyeing to register some 4 million new voters. (PNA)
