The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday reported 18 new recoveries from the coronavirus disease 2019, increasing the total recoveries at 475,423 or 92.1 percent of all the country’s Covid-19 cases.

In its daily Covid-19 bulletin, the DOH reported 1,173 new infections, with active cases now at 30,357 or 5.9 percent of the country’s 516,166 total infections.

Of the new cases, Cebu City had the most infections with 84 new cases, followed by Davao City with 67, Cavite with 51, Quezon City with 47, and Rizal with 41.

The DOH said 84.9 percent of the active cases has mild symptoms while 8.4 percent have no symptoms, 3.8 percent are in critical condition, 2.5 percent with severe symptoms, and 0.50 percent with moderate symptoms.

Meanwhile, 94 new deaths were reported, bringing the country’s casualties to 10,386 or 2.01 percent of all Covid-19 infections.

Many health facilities remain available, with the country’s 2,000 beds at intensive care units currently 59 percent unoccupied, 17,000 isolation beds at 65 percent availability, 8,300 ward beds at 8,300 availability, and 77 percent of the country’s available 2,100 ventilators. (PNA)
