With 139 new recovered cases reported on Tuesday, the overall tally of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) recoveries nationwide climbed to 408,790.

The Department of Health (DOH) also reported 1,400 new confirmed cases, bringing the total number of active cases to 25,325.

Of the active cases, about 84.8 percent are mild, 6.6 percent are asymptomatic, 2.8 percent are severe, 0.32 are moderate, and 5.5 percent are in critical condition.

Most of the newly announced cases were from Benguet with 101, Davao City with 90, Quezon City with 82, Rizal with 75, and Laguna with 56 infections.

The DOH also logged 98 deaths on Tuesday, pushing the death toll to 8,670.

“About 14 duplicates were removed from the total case count, and of these, eight were recovered cases. Moreover, 43 cases previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths,” it said.

The department also reported that it has a total bed capacity of 21,300 dedicated to Covid-19 patients.

Available are about 58 percent of 1,900 intensive care unit beds; 61 percent of 13,500 isolation beds; and 71 percent of 5,900 ward beds.

About 81 percent of 2,000 ventilators are available for patients’ use. (PNA)
