The country’s total number of recovered cases from the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) rose to 399,325 after the Department of Health (DOH) reported 328 new recoveries on Thursday.

In its latest case bulletin, the DOH said the figures represent 91.7-percent recovery rate from Covid-19 among Filipinos.

It also reported 1,061 new cases while 10 have died. These numbers bring the total number of active cases to 27,642 and the death toll to 8,446.

Of the active cases, about 85.2 percent were classified as mild, 6.9 percent as asymptomatic, 2.6 percent as severe, 0.28 percent as moderate and 5 percent in critical condition.

“Five duplicates were removed from the total case count, and of these, five were recovered cases. Moreover, three cases previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths,” the DOH said.

Davao City topped the list of areas where new Covid-19 cases were logged with 92 infections.

It is followed by Quezon City with 92, Rizal with 50, Pampanga with 44, and Quezon with 43 cases.

A December 2 DOH report showed that 1,087 or 4.4 percent of 24,429 who were tested for Covid-19 turned positive.

The DOH also said it remains to have 21,300 total bed capacity for patients with Covid-19.

About 59 percent of intensive care unit beds, 61 percent of 13,500 isolation beds, and 71 percent of 5,900 ward beds are available for patients’ use.

It added that 81 percent of 2,000 ventilators are also available for patients with Covid-19. (PNA)
