Every Filipino is capable to bring light and hope to those who lost loved ones, livelihood, and homes due to the recent typhoons. This is the message behind ABS-CBN Foundation – Sagip Kapamilya’s new public service campaign “Tulong-Tulong sa Pag-Ahon” that was launched last Friday (November 20) on “TV Patrol.”

Just like the bayanihan spirit shown by Filipinos in previous calamities, ABS-CBN hopes to inspire the nation to unite once again to help families rise from the destruction caused by Typhoons Quinta, Rolly, Siony, Tonyo, and Ulysses.

They can help by donating any amount or sending in-kind donations such as rice, canned goods, bottled water, blankets, and hygiene kits to Sagip Kapamilya, to be used for the relief packs it will distribute to typhoon victims all over the country.

An estimated 800,000 families are said to have been affected by the typhoons, with many families still staying in evacuation centers as they slowly rebuild their homes and their lives.

Meanwhile, Sagip Kapamilya and the ABS-CBN News Public Service team, through the help of donors and partners in the private sector and the government, continue to deliver relief goods and hot meals to areas badly hit by Typhoon Ulysses. These include Aurora, Batangas, Bulacan, Cagayan, Isabela, Marikina, Pampanga, Rizal, and evacuation centers in Quezon City and Makati. As of November 23, around 19,263 families already received relief packs while 104,476 individuals were served with cooked meals.

For Typhoon Rolly, the group also went to Albay, Aurora, Batangas, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Nueva Ecija, Oriental Mindoro, and Quezon where 19,549 families were given relief goods and 5,190 people benefited from the mobile kitchen.

To be able to continue and expand the relief operations of Sagip Kapamilya and serve more Filipinos, ABS-CBN is intensifying its efforts to help through upcoming activities in line with “Tulong-Tulong sa Pag-Ahon.”

ABS-CBN Foundation managing director Susan Afan thanked ABS-CBN for supporting their mission to bring light amid the darkness, fear, and loneliness felt by Filipinos brought about by the storms and the pandemic.

“Even before we launched ‘Tulong-Tulong sa Pag-Ahon,’ various individuals, programs, and platforms in ABS-CBN have supported our fund-raising efforts. We are full of gratitude knowing that despite the challenges faced by the company due to the pandemic and the non-renewal of its franchise, the love and compassion for Filipinos still prevails,” she said.

Donations to ABS-CBN Foundation – Sagip Kapamilya can be donated to the following bank accounts of ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation, Inc.: BPI Peso Account 4221-0000-27 (Swift Code: BOPIPHMM) and BDO Peso Account 0039302-14711 (Swift Code: BNORPHMM). Donations are also accepted via GCash or PayMaya. For in-kind donations such as canned goods, bottled water, rice, blankets, and hygiene kits, call 3411-4995 for information on the nearest drop-off point.
