It also logged 450 new recoveries and 50 deaths, bringing the total number of recoveries to 230,643 and the number of deaths to 5,049.

Of the 50 deaths, 38 occurred in September which is 76 percent, eight in August which is 16 percent, three in July which is 6 percent, and one in April which is 2 percent.

“There were 34 duplicates that were removed from the total case count, and of these, 21 were recovered cases, and two recovered cases, found to be negative, were removed from the total case count after final validation. Moreover, 17 cases previously reported as recovered were reclassified as one death and 16 active cases,” the DOH said.

As of Tuesday, the 100 licensed reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) laboratories and 30 licensed GeneXpert laboratories have conducted a total of 3,221,770 tests nationwide.
