To boost its efforts to curb the local transmission of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), Makati City Mayor Abigail Binay on Thursday said they are hiring medical professionals and other healthcare workers.

Binay said the local government is hiring physicians, nurses, medical technologists, midwives, and nursing attendants.

Apart from monthly basic salaries, she said the hired applicants will receive a personnel economic relief allowance amounting to PHP2,000, Magna Carta of public health workers’ hazard pay amounting to PHP8,507 or Covid 19 hazard pay/subsistence allowance (during enhanced community quarantine) amounting to PHP1,100 and laundry allowance of PHP150.

Healthcare workers may also receive annual benefits from the local government including mid-year and year-end bonuses, cash gifts, incentive pay, productivity enhancement pay, additional benefits, clothing allowance as well as service recognition incentives.

Applicants are required to submit a letter of intent addressed to Binay thru Dr. Bernard Sese, officer-in-charge of the Makati Health Department (MHD), with attached documents including resume, authenticated PRC ID/board rating, authenticated Transcript of Records, and diploma.

Interested healthcare professionals are urged to send their applications through email via mhd_main@yahoo.com, along with the requirements needed.

Meanwhile, the city government urged residents to avail of the virtual health care services from medical doctors of the Ospital ng Makati (OsMak).

Th OsMak e-Consult program (telemedicine consultation) is an online medical consultation with the healthcare professionals, which is part of its commitment to strengthening the “Alagang Makatizen” program amid the health crisis.

The OsMak e-Consult initiative involves the use of digital equipment and other electronic gadgets for the purpose of diagnosis, treatment, management, education, and follow-up care “(when) the face-to-face medical consultation is not possible” during the pandemic. (PNA)
