The city government launched on Monday the StaySafe.ph application as part of its efforts to strengthen the fight against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

StaySafe.ph is a digital contact tracing application that will help in health condition reporting and Covid-19 contact tracing.

“Isa sa mga pinakaimportanteng paraan para hindi na lalong lumaganap ang Covid-19 ay ang pagkaroon ng epektibong contact tracing system (One of the important ways not to further spread the Covid-19 is having an effective contact tracing system,” Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. said in a statement.

He said that StaySafe will remind everyone to keep distance from communities with Covid-19 cases.

“We can protect our loved ones by reporting their health conditions without disclosing their identities or sensitive information. StaySafe.ph will also give you tips on what to do when you start experiencing Covid-19 symptoms,” he said.

Lazatin earlier asked members of the City Health Office (CHO), led by Dr. Verona Guevarra, to head the intensive contact tracing in the city while the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office supports the CHO in testing the close contacts of a confirmed case.

Dr. Froilan Canlas, officer-in-charge of Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center (RLMMC), said that StaySafe.ph will help the hospital in case management by enabling quick monitoring of the health condition of patients.

Based on the latest Angeles City Covid-19 update on Sunday, there are seven new confirmed Covid-19 cases in the locality, bringing its total number to 79.

Of the total figure, 38 are active cases.

On the other hand, the total number of recoveries is 36 while the number of deaths is five. (PNA)
