The premises of the old city hall here were sanitized on Tuesday after an employee of one of the offices occupying the building tested positive for the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Aaron Bais, head of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), said their personnel disinfected the area as directed by Mayor Evelio Leonardia.

The infected employee, identified as Patient No. 89 out of the 92 cases in the city, is an employee of the General Services Office (GSO). His positive result was among those released by the Department of Health-Western Visayas on Monday night.

Aside from the GSO, the old city hall, located at the downtown area on Araneta-Luzuriaga Streets, also hosts the CDRRMO, City Veterinary Office, City Mayor’s Office (CMO)-Sectoral Office, Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs, City Treasurer’s Office- Licensing Division Satellite Office, City Cooperative and Livelihood Development Office and the Bacolod Showroom, Bacolod City Government Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative, CMO- Printing Office, and Public Order and Safety Office Desk.

Local offices of national government agencies occupying the building include the Philippine National Police-Provincial Internal Affairs Services, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Department of the Interior and Local Government, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, and Commission on Audit.

Earlier on Tuesday, the DRRMO personnel also fumigated the Bacolod Arts, Sports, and Youth Center, which houses the Bacolod Respiratory Outpatient Center, on San Juan Street. (PNA)
