Mayor Sara Z. Duterte appealed Wednesday to members of families who have 2019 coronavirus disease (Covid-19) patients to refrain from going out of their homes.

In a radio interview, Mayor Sara urged families with infected members to stop moving in order to stop the spread of the virus.

“We know you, so please help us by not going out from your homes to stop the spread of the virus and wait for 14 days,” the mayor said.

Duterte also urged the family members to call the Covid-19 Operation Center if they need to buy supplies and other essential needs.

“Just let us know and we will deliver the food supply to your respective houses,” she added.

As of Wednesday (April 22), Duterte said the city had 160 suspected cases admitted to Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) and three other care centers.

She also reiterated the reminder for the residents to limit their movement, noting that the potential sources of infections are public utility vehicles, grocery, drugstores, remittance centers, banks, and markets.

She also asked the public to avoid barangays with recorded Covid-19 cases, where random testing is being done. She also assured residents of locked down villages they will be supplied with food. (PNA)
