An elderly woman from Concepcion town in this province died of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), raising the number of fatalities to 15, as confirmed by the Department of Health (DOH).

The Tarlac Covid-19 Task Force said the 89-year-old woman from Barangay San Nicolas Poblacion succumbed to the dreaded disease on Saturday, the same day the positive result of her swab test came out.

Aside from her, the task force said there are additional 16 new infections cases reported, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the province to 395, with 224 active cases.

The Tarlac Covid-19 Task Force said out of the 16 infections, seven patients came from the city, three from Concepcion, two each from Bamban and Pura, and one each from Capas and Paniqui.

Meanwhile, the task force said three patients have recovered from the disease, raising the total number of recoveries to 156.

The newly-recovered patients are a 42-year-old man from Barangay Matatalaib, this city; 49-year-old woman from Barangay San Jose, Concepcion; and a 32-year-old female from Barangay Estipona, Pura town. (PNA)
