The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday reported 406 more recoveries among Filipinos afflicted with the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), bringing the total to 546,671, or about 90.1 percent of the overall case count.

The DOH’s latest bulletin also showed 3,749 new active cases and 63 new fatalities, raising those undergoing treatment and the death toll to 47,769 and 12,608, respectively.

Of the active cases, the DOH said 91.6 percent exhibit mild symptoms, 4.4 percent are asymptomatic, 1.6 percent are critical, 1.6 percent are severe, and 0.77 percent are moderate.

The DOH estimated the beds allocated for Covid-19 patients at 21,400 as of this reporting.

At least 55 percent of the total 1,900 intensive care unit beds are still available.

Also unoccupied are 63 percent of the 13,500 isolation beds and 72 percent of the 6,000 ward beds dedicated to Covid-19 cases.

Some 1,480 or 74 percent of the ventilators nationwide are also available for these patients. (PNA)
