Thirty farmers in Sultan Kudarat province are expected to increase productivity and profit after completing their four-month Farm Business School (FBS) training, officials said Monday.

Mary Joy T. Labanero, Department of Agrarian Reform-Sultan Kudarat agrarian reform officer, said the program beneficiaries are members of Lay Minister Farmers Consumers Cooperative (LMFCC) based in Sen. Ninoy Aquino municipality.

Labanero, also the FBS focal person for DAR-Sultan Kudarat, said the training aims to enhance the knowledge of Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) in farm productivity and profitability, as well as enhance the entrepreneurial and management skills of the ARBs.

Rhea Marie P. Betque, program officer for Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Development Sustainability Program (ARBDSP), lauded the ARBs for completing the training and asking them to stay motivated.

“Stay motivated, and keep learning and adapting as you face emerging challenges and opportunities in your organization,” Betque, also the comprehensive agrarian reform program officer, said.

Roldan A. Ali, DAR-Soccsksargen assistant regional director, said he was convinced the ARBs, with their newly improved skills, “are now more ready to manage risks that they will face in the future.”

Meanwhile, Panfilo Japila, the LMFCC chairperson, thanked the DAR-Sultan Kudarat for providing them with the necessary skills to be more productive ARBs.

“I am hopeful that similar training programs will be conducted in the future, and that more organizations like ours will have the opportunity to receive such valuable training,” he said. (PNA)
