The Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday reported 221 new recoveries from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), with the country’s recovery tally now at 546,293 or 90.5 percent of all Covid-19 infections.

In its daily Covid-19 bulletin, the DOH reported 2,886 new cases, with active cases now at 44,470 or 7.4 percent of all infections.

Of the active cases, it said the majority at 91.7 percent have mild symptoms, followed by the asymptomatic at 4 percent, those in critical condition at 1.7 percent, those with severe symptoms at 1.7 percent, and those with moderate symptoms at 0.80 percent.

Some 17 deaths were also recorded, with the country’s total casualties against Covid-19 now at 12,545 or 2.08 percent of all infections.

Currently, 55 percent of the 1,900 total intensive care unit beds, 63 percent of 12,500 isolation beds, 72 percent of 6,000 ward beds, and 75 percent of the 2,000 ventilators are available for use of Covid-19 patients. (PNA)
