The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) now has 18 accredited public health service providers in Davao City which cater to their “Konsultang Sulit at Tama” package.

PhilHealth-11 public relations officer Johanna Blason said Monday the package is an expansion of primary care benefits which is newly implemented, to cover all Filipinos as mandated by the Universal Health Care Law.

“This is in response to the demand to have outpatient health services. So we do not have to wait until our health becomes worse until we can avail of PhilHealth services in the hospital,” Blason said in a press conference here.

The Konsulta package is a newly-implemented primary care benefit that offers comprehensive outpatient health services such as free medical consultations, health screening and assessment, and access to selected diagnostic services, and medicines.

Local health service providers include Mintal Health Center, Agdao Health Center, Jacinto Health Center, E. Torres Health Center, Talomo Central Health Center, Tomas Claudio Health Center, Toril Health Center A, Toril Urban Health Center B, and the Baguio District Health Center.

It also includes the Buhangin Health Center, Bunawan Health Center, Marilog District Health Center, Paquibato Main Health Center, Sasa Health Center, SIR Health Center, and Talomo South Health Center.

Blason said PhilHealth’s marketing department is negotiating a tie-up with private health service providers in the city to further expand the scope of the Konsulta package.

She said Konsulta packages are also available in Davao Oriental, which has 11 centers, and also one for each of the provinces of Davao de Oro and Davao del Norte.

PhilHealth members and dependents are qualified to avail of the outpatient package by registering with the nearest accredited service provider to their homes or workplace. (PNA)
