The PBB fever continues to rise in anticipation for the return of “Pinoy Big Brother” after the show invited 14 aspiring housemates from the pool of auditionees in Kumu to travel to Manila for the next round of auditions.

“PBB Connect” has attracted 177,524 aspiring housemates, the highest audition turnout in the history of the show. These aspiring housemates went out of their comfort zones to connect, show their personalities, and unleash their talents in the hopes of entering the famous Big Brother house.

Six (6) of the 14 housemates headed for Manila hail from Luzon, one (1) came from Visayas, four (4) are from Mindanao, two (2) are from Metro Manila, and one (1) auditioned from overseas. They now need to pass their medical, psychological, and COVID exams to become full-fledged housemates. 15 people were supposed to complete Kuya’s housemates this season, but one decided not to pursue with their journey.

Meanwhile, those who did not make it still have a chance to be part of “PBB’s” ninth season as Big Brother is opening up more slots. The lucky housemates will be chosen from among those who auditioned and accomplished Kuya’s different tasks via livestream on Kumu.

This is the first time that “Pinoy Big Brother” held auditions entirely online and exclusively on Kumu. It is also in this livestreaming app where the program is able to connect with fans and aspiring housemates even before the season begins with hosts Toni Gonzaga, Bianca Gonzalez, Robi Domingo, Richard Juan, Kim Chiu, Melai Cantiveros, and Enchong Dee.

Since its launch in 2005, “Pinoy Big Brother” has mirrored the hopes, plight, and aspirations of Filipinos through its diverse mix of housemates. Big Brother formulates tasks and challenges for the housemates to bring out their best, test their strengths, and foster camaraderie as they undergo a transformative journey inside the house.

By bringing “PBB Connect” to life, ABS-CBN and Kumu aim to provide hope and strengthen connections among Filipinos during this pandemic. Stay tuned for it on Kapamilya Online Live, Kapamilya Channel, A2Z channel 11, and Kumu.
