The initial rollout of the JobStart Philippines Program 2025 here has produced 127 graduates, the city government’s Public Information Office (PIO) bared on Tuesday.

The city government is implementing the program in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Public Employment Skills and Development Office (PESDO).

The graduates were formally recognized during a ceremony led by top officials of the city government, DOLE, and PESDO on Monday at the Almont Beach Resort. The graduates completed 10 days of soft skills and care skills training and each received PHP4,200 as part of JobStart’s support package.

“The first batch of trainees and the completion of the program signified a milestone in strengthening employment readiness among Surigao City residents, particularly the youth,” the PIO said.

DOLE Caraga Regional Director Jason Balais and City Councilor Karl Duane Cassura led the recognition of the new program graduates.

Besides recognition, the new graduates were also connected to potential employers by the city government and DOLE through a mini job fair event. (PNA)
