You might be excellent at your job, professional and always on time; but if you show no enthusiasm at your workplace, you might not get promoted. Lack of enthusiasm should, however, not be confused with shyness. Lack of enthusiasm reduces your chances because it seems to your superiors like you do not enjoy your work and probably wouldn’t handle more responsibility as well. To overcome this, be a little livelier at the office, participate in company activities and do your best to show that there is no place you would rather be.
