When you are lying on your bed, doing nothing but thinking of how things have gone from bad to worse for the past couple of months, you can’t help but feel nostalgic all of a sudden. You wish for things to go back to the way they were but let me stop you right there.
Try not to make yourself sadder and your heart heavier because you will be the only one suffering. Instead of dwelling on what happened, try to remind yourself of the following lines and contemplate on what you can do to get back on your feet. Better days are coming, dear. You just have to believe it.
It is okay to choose yourself
Time to prioritize yourself, dear. You gave too much of your attention and care to other people that you forgot that you still have yourself to think about. Choosing yourself doesn’t mean that you’re selfish, it just means that you are putting yourself first – and mind you, there’s nothing wrong with that.
You may not reply as fast as you used to before, you may pass hangouts with your friends, and you may go on hiatus mode for a few days – you can do all of that without thinking about what others may think because you deserve that. You deserve to take care of yourself and if you want to catch up with all the time you have lost helping others then do so. If they really know you, they’ll understand.
