Marketing Management student Adelaine Po Pelayo was appointed as the new president of the Philippine Junior Marketing Association (PJMA), the national alliance among local Junior Marketing Association (JMA) organizations from different colleges and universities nationwide.

Pelayo was selected by the 34th National Executive Board of the PJMA with the approval of Philippine Marketing Association (PMA) President and PhilStar Media Group Executive Vice President Lucien Dy Tioco and PMA Director for Youth and Academe and Teleperformance Senior Director for Communication and Marketing Marilyn Ventenilla.

Established in 1986, the PJMA is a professional student-managed network of 300 member schools and over 50,000 junior marketers from across the country. The organization maximizes the full potential of the business industry as it provides venues and opportunities for the students to harness their knowledge and capabilities, enhance their experience and potentials and excel in the field as future generation of the marketing community.

Pelayo currently pursues her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Marketing Management at the De La Salle- College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) School of Management and Information Technology (SMIT). She is currently a PR and Influencer Marketing Intern at PayMaya Philippines, Inc., one of the country’s leading financial services and digital payments company.

She exemplified her leadership skills when she spearheaded in July 2021 the Business Online eXploration: Contriving a Bright Future Ahead, a project headlined by significant speakers from leading companies such as Ayala Malls, Republic Biscuit Corporation (Rebisco), Mondelez International and EON The Stakeholders Relations Group, Inc. It was well-attended by approximately 3,350 participants.

She likewise served as the Project Head of the Governor’s Forum; Augmenting Ingenuity, an exclusive event for local JMA officers and executives, which gathered important speakers from Procter & Gamble (P&G), Microsoft Philippines and PMA.

After a year-long training with the federation plus a presentation of the General Plan of Action to the organization’s executives and members of the board, Pelayo was appointed as the president of PJMA for the Academic Year 2021 to 2022. She is currently organizing MADWORLD: Bravery Over Adversity, PJMA’s upcoming flagship event in partnership with media and creative agency Havas Media Ortega.
