World Vision in the Philippines together with its celebrity ambassadors, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Gretchen Ho, Enzo Pineda, and Gelli Victor is appealing to the public to support its 1st Virtual Run for Children.

The World Vision’s Virtual Run for Children aims to help the underprivileged Filipino children and communities especially those who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. World Vision encourages the public to join this fundraising activity to help other people by participating in the virtual run.

“Through God’s grace, we stay committed in serving the most vulnerable children. We pray that the World Vision virtual run will inspire many people to take an active role in helping others even in these complex times. Thanks to our ambassadors, and may all of us have a wonderful time running for children,” said Mr. Rommel Fuerte, World Vision National Director.

How does Virtual Run work? The participants can walk or run whether indoors or outdoors and use running or steps app to monitor the distance. Just a reminder, they should always follow the community quarantine regulations in their area. The fees are ranging from Php 1,050.00 to Php 1,650.00 and it is inclusive of a race bib, shirt, medal, and an e-certificate.

“World Vision’s Virtual Run for Children gives an opportunity for people to have an outlet for physical activity despite the challenges of the community quarantine but more importantly, it becomes an avenue to support the needs of underprivileged children in the country. Takbo.ph is so proud to be part of this initiative,” said Mr. Jinoe Gavan, Managing Director of Takbo.ph, the official partner of World Vision for the Virtual Run 2020.

For interested participants, the registration period is now extended until June 30, 2020. After the registration, they may already start running either 21K, 50K, 100K, or 200K. They can finish the run anytime and anywhere until July 31, 2020. Once they reached the goal, they can get the limited-edition World Vision Virtual Run for Children Finisher Shirt and a Finisher Medal.
