For three consecutive years, the Office of Vice President (OVP), under VP Leni Robredo’s leadership, received the highest audit rating from the Commission on Audit (COA) for Fiscal Year 2020.

In the Independent Auditor’s Report dated June 15, the COA gave an “unqualified opinion”—considered the best opinion the agency can render to a government agency—on the fairness of the presentation of the OVP’s financial statement.

According to the report, the audit evidence the COA obtained is “sufficient and appropriate” to serve as a basis for giving the highest audit opinion.

“In our opinion, the accompanying financial statements present fairly, in all material respects, the financial position of OVP as at December 31, 2020, and its financial performance, statement of cash flows, statement of changes in net assets/equity, statement of comparison of budget and actual amounts for the year then ended, and notes to the financial statements, including a summary of significant accounting policies in accordance with International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSASs),” the report said.

In her message, VP Leni said the recognition the OVP has been receiving for the past three years was made possible through the cooperation and collective efforts of the OVP’s staff.

“Mahalaga ang recognition na ito dahil patunay siya sa pagpapahalaga natin sa pagsasaayos ng ating mga sistema, lalo pagdating sa maayos na paggamit ng pera ng bayan,” VP Leni said.

The Vice President also welcomed the observations and recommendation the state auditors noted in its report in improving the OVP’s financial processes.

As part of the OVP’s continuous efforts to provide quality public service, the office also received its recertification from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in February this year.
