The Valenzuela City government on Monday inaugurated its newly-built multipurpose building that will serve as livelihood and senior citizens hub at one of the city’s resettlement sites in Barangay Bignay.

Mayor Rex Gatchalian said the project is part of the local government’s efforts to build a sustainable community for the beneficiaries of the city’s resettlement project.

The two-storey building, called Livelihood and Senior Citizen’s Office, is aimed to house more programs and services that will uplift the living standard of the residents of the “Disiplina Village Bignay.”

It also targets to support the existing livelihood programs of the city government for those families who were formerly residing in Valenzuela City’s danger zones.

The “Disiplina Village” is a city government’s housing project for informal settler families (ISFs).

“Ang mga proyekto na ito ay patuloy na tutulong sa mga kababayan natin na lilipat sa ating mga Disiplina Village na makamit ang pagiging ganap na komunidad at alam naman natin ang isang community, hindi sapat yung ilipat mo sila don kundi kailangan kumpleto sa mga pasilidad (This project will continuously support our fellow citizens who will be resettled in our Disiplina Villages and we know that within the community, it’s not enough to just move them there without providing them with complete facilities),” Gatchalian said.

Gatchalian said they will continue to provide comfortable resettlement sites and housing units for his ISF constituents.

“The city government of Valenzuela will continue on its mandate to provide sustainable livelihood to uplift the lives of every Valenzuelano with its investment in new infrastructure and facilities,” he said.

The other Disiplina Villages are located in Barangays Ugong and Lingunan in Valenzuela. (PNA)
