Civil Service Commission (CSC) chairperson Karlo Nograles on Wednesday urged government human resource management practitioners to digitalize their systems.
In a statement, Nograles said digital tools and innovation can streamline processes and enhance service delivery.
“By leveraging digital tools and innovation, we can streamline processes, enhance service delivery, and empower our civil servants to serve the public with greater efficiency and effectiveness,” he said.
He called on all civil servants to support digital transformation in the bureaucracy.
“These changes should empower and not intimidate our civil servants. In this digital age, our civil servants must embrace continuous learning and upskilling to remain relevant and effective,” Nograles said.
Government human resource practitioners, he said, should be proactive in pursuing systems and processes that can meet the requirements of a modern civil service.
“The effectiveness of our bureaucracy largely depends on the quality of our human resources, and human resource management practitioners play an integral role. We rely on their sound discretion in selecting individuals, and digitalization is a key component of this endeavor,” Nograles said. (PNA)
