The provincial government here is partnering with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) for skills training of Antiqueños.
The provincial government will fund the training as per the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) they signed with Governor Rhodora J. Cadiao on Nov. 18, said TESDA Antique provincial director Agnes Dimzon in an interview on Friday.
“The Antique provincial government has allocated PHP2.9 million for the skills training of those interested individuals who would like to enhance their employment opportunities or livelihood,” she said.
The budget is for the training allowance, toolkits, and other needs.
She said they are now closely coordinating with the Antique Provincial Planning and Development Office and TESDA-accredited schools, including the Westtrade Technical Training and Assessment Center, Inc. in San Jose de Buenavista, to be ready to accommodate enrollees next month.
“The training duration could run from 29 to 34 days depending on the course enrolled by the trainee,” Dimzon said.
Available training programs include Plant Crops or Animal Production, Electrical Installation and Maintenance course with National Certificate (NC) II, Agro-Entrepreneurship NC II, Service Motorcycle/Small Engine System, Service Electrical System NC II, Plaster Concrete/Masonry Surface, Driving NC III, and Photo Voltaic System Installation NC II.
