The local government unit (LGU) of Bacuag in Surigao del Norte thanked the office of Sen. Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go for aiding hundreds of families affected by Typhoon Auring that hit the area in February.

In a statement Monday, the Bacuag LGU said around 990 affected families received aid in a distribution activity conducted by the office of Sen. Go on May 7.

“These families came from nine barangays that were affected by Typhoon Auring in February,” the local government said, adding that the relief activity was supported by the Department of Social Welfare and Development in the Caraga Region (DSWD-13).

“Bacuag Mayor Felicisimo C. Cebedo is grateful to the office of Sen. Go and to President Rodrigo Duterte for the aid,” the statement said.

The affected families received food packs, groceries, vitamins, facemasks, and face shields during the distribution activity.

Through the Assistance to Individuals/families in Crisis Situation (AICS) program of the DSWD, each of the affected families also received PHP3,000 cash aid during the activity. (PNA)
