Surigao City collected more than PHP109.8 million in taxes and fees from Jan. 2 to 20 under its Business One-Stop Shop (BOSS) program, the city’s public information office said Wednesday.

“The total collections marked a 39.74 percent increase from the previous year’s PHP78.5 million,” the office said.

The city processed 204 new business permits and 3,756 renewals.

It reminded those who missed the BOSS program to visit the Business Permit and Licensing Office.

The BOSS program follows Republic Act 11032, the Ease of Doing Business Law, which mandates reducing expenses and inconveniences for the public.

Other cities in the Caraga region also opened BOSS programs on Jan. 2. (PNA)
