The Social Security System (SSS) Iloilo central branch on Monday accredited four multi-purpose cooperatives in Western Visayas as collecting partners, in a move seen to benefit over 10,000 of their members and expected to enlist an additional 7,000.

SSS acting Senior Vice President of Accounts Management Group Renato Jacinto Cuisia, in his message, said he considered the program an outreach program because of their social mandate to reach out to all working individuals, whether in the employed sector, self-employed, informal sector, and kasambahay (household help).

“As a manifestation of support and cooperation, our branches are courting you, practically all cooperatives nationwide. We find this very useful as part of our reaching out to our members. Through your cooperative, we can do a lot,” he said.

The new accredited collecting partner agents are the Guimaras Multi-purpose Cooperative (MPC), Guimaras Brethren MPC, Pototan MPC, and the KASAMA (Kabalikat sa Magandang Adhikain) MPC.

They will be providing assistance on SSS-related services to members, including the collection of contributions and loan amortizations, member registration, creation of online accounts, and enrollment of a disbursement account through My.SSS facility and online application for benefits and loans.

Angelo Blancaver, Vice President of SSS Visayas West 2 Division and concurrent acting Head of Visayas West 1 Division, said this is the first time that they simultaneously signed an agreement, made possible through their Iloilo central branch.

Signatories to the agreement were Senior Vice President of Visayas Operations Group, lawyer Alberto Montalban, Iloilo central branch head Elisa Llavan, Cuisia and Blancaver for SSS; Pototan MPC manager Charlie Dormido and Board of Director Chair Eugene Tañedo; KASAMA manager Carmelita Riano and Board of Director Chair Erme Jun Jumawan; Guimaras Brethren MPC manager Mary Jane Ganarias and Board of Director Chair Girlie Lero; and Guimaras MPC manager Raymundo Lao and Board of Director Chair Mercy Diaz.
