The popular ‘90s basketball anime series, Slam Dunk, will return in 2022 with new basketball tricks content and a lot of childhood good memories from 20 years ago.

Takehiko Inoue, the creator of Slam Dunk, teases the upcoming anime film on August 13, which features the names of the contributing animators and producers.

Inoue was first to announce the upcoming film in January on Twitter.

The consistency of his post brought viewers to mind that he will give brand-new content from the franchise. However, highlights of the story and release date have yet to be confirmed.

The manga version of Slam Dunk was first introduced in 1990 and ran for six years, selling over 120 million copies worldwide that placed 13th as the best-selling manga series in history.

In the Philippines, Slam Dunk was one of the oldies anime series that succeeded in the country that embeds in every childhood’s good memory including Dragon Ball, Voltes V, Sailormoon, Ghost Fighter, Princess Sarah, and more.
