The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) on Wednesday called on Filipinos from the low-income sector to sign up for the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Housing (4PH) program.

In a Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon interview, DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar said 4PH units are now being built in different parts of the country after two to three years of planning.

“Meron po diyan sa Pampanga, meron na po diyan sa Nueva Ecija, maga-award na po ng pambansang pabahay at diyan po sa Bacolod. Susunod naman po meron na sa Quezon City, meron na sa Caloocan at darating po sa buong Pilipinas (There are buildings in Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, there will be awarding of national housing units, and in Bacolod. Next, we have in Quezon City, Caloocan and soon the whole Philippines),” he said.

To date, at least 56 projects under 4PH are in various stages of development and construction.

In Nueva Ecija, the first 4PH units at the Palayan City Township Development were turned over to overseas Filipino worker-beneficiaries by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos in MalacaĂąang in December 2024.

Bacolod City also started turning over 4PH housing units to beneficiaries at the Asenso Yuhum Residences last month.

Acuzar said concerned individuals and families may now go to their respective local government units and DHSUD offices to be enlisted for the 4PH program.

“Pangalawa po, kelangan mag-documentation na kayo kasi po ‘yung dokumento na iyan gagamitin namin sa mga bangko at sa Pag-Ibig para paglipat niyo po, kayo ang mauuna kase naka-dokumento kayo, ‘yung document naman na iyan ay gagamitin namin sa pagbayad sa contractor (You need documentation because we’ll use those documents for the banks and Pag-Ibig, you’ll be first in line if you have documents which will be used to pay the contractor),” he added.

Informal settler families are also encouraged to apply as beneficiaries of the 4PH program.

Acuzar earlier said the government slashed by half its target for 4PH to just three million units from the original six million units.

“Pero po, iyan nakalatag na po lahat ‘yan, malalagay na po kayo sa listahan ng pambansang pabahay sa panahon ng Marcos administration (But, all plans have been laid down, you will be included in the list of national housing program under the Marcos administration),” he said. (PNA)
