The Sugba Lagoon tourist destination in Del Carmen, Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte, will close temporarily from Jan. 10 to Feb. 10, 2025 for environmental recovery and rehabilitation.

“Repairs of tourism facilities will also be facilitated by the local government,” the Del Carmen Torusim office announced.

Department of Tourism (DOT) Caraga Regional Director Ivonnie Dumadag commended the Del Carmen government for its commitment to sustainable tourism.

She said the closure will enhance visitors’ comfort and experience.

“While Sugba Lagoon takes this break, tourists are encouraged to explore Del Carmen’s other attractions, like Kawhagan Island, Pamomoan Beach, and the Mangrove Forest Boardwalk,” Dumadag said. (PNA)
